Fuego Volcano Eruption 2018 Los Lotes Guatemala

On June 3, 2018, Guatemala's Fuego volcano erupted 25 miles from the nation's capital of Guatemala City. It was the most violent eruption of Fuego in four decades, and the resulting pyroclastic flows engulfed entire towns in thick, heavy ash. More than 100 people were killed, and many more are still missing. The disaster displaced over 3,000 people from their homes due to the widespread destruction. Overall, more than 1.7 million Guatemalans were affected by the eruption.
Our hearts go out to the people of Sacatepequez, Chimaltenango, and Escuintla as they continue to search for loved ones, and begin to rebuild their homes. In response, we are donating $1 from every bag of Guatemalan coffee sold from our Volcano Relief Collection to Habitat for Humanity Guatemala
Habitat for Humanity Guatemala is on the ground and assisting in the rehabilitation and reconstruction of homes in the affected towns. The funds raised from the sale of our Volcano Relief Collection will support reconstruction efforts by supplying families whose homes are beyond rehabilitation with 49-square-meter houses which includes three rooms, a bathroom, a portable stove, and a water filter.
Try all three Fair Trade and Organic coffees in this beautiful collection, and support those affected by the Fuego volcano eruption to rebuild their lives. And, as always, every bag donates meals to malnourished children in Guatemala!
